![]() Recipients are honoured for their leadership, exemplary early childhood education practices, and their commitment to help build the foundation children need to make the best possible start in life. | ![]() Any person applying to the Leadership Wood Buffalo program may apply for the Sana Elache Bursary. The bursary covers one full paid tuition for the year of the program. The selection committee comprises of members of Leadership Wood Buffalo alumni, FuseSocial Board of Directors, and the social profit sector. It graded Vardy and other applicants using the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership with Vardy scoring well in each of them. The practices are the following: Modeling the Way, Inspiring | ![]() The Heart of Wood Buffalo Excellence Awards honours the achievements of leaders, philanthropists, organizations and all those that embody the spirit of community, innovation, capacity building, and dedication to making Wood Buffalo an amazing region to work, play, and live in. |

They have value-added benefits to Indigenous communities and individuals in at least one Alberta community as a result of implementing best practices including economic development, employment and training, and community engagement. This award is not limited to ownership, but rather will be based on what the nominee does for heritage, and the Indigenous communities. |
